Charles Crawford III’s engineering education started in high school with electives in drafting and electronics.
He graduated high school with 'Most Outstanding Student in Technology', graduated top of his class with a Bachelor’s of science in Electrical Engineering Technology from DeVry University, and is currently a PhD student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington.

During The Scole Experiment, the 'Germanium Receptor' – a TransDimensional Communication (TDC) Device – was constructed under the supervision of Professor Arthur Ellison (an electrical engineering specialist) who followed instructions and a circuit diagram provided by the 'Communicators'.

The original Scole TDC device was later damaged.
Charles Crawford has constructed a new version of similar design, which is being used for The Siegert Experiment; (this ongoing experiment is connected to The Scole Experiment via its participants). A video showing how the new Germanium TDC Device is constructed is below...
Trans Dimensional Communicator (TDC) Construction
More recently, Charles has been considering ways to use the germanium and coil configuration of the TDC to make a keyboard, with each key connected to a germanium switch so the Communicators can type out their own books and communicate with the living online.
This opens up intriguing possibilities when we remember that, during The Scole Experiment, a Communicator claiming to be the survived spirit of Sir Winston Churchill talked – independently from mid-air in his own voice – about writing a book from his new home on the Other Side called 'The Adventures of Winston in Wonderland'.

At time of writing (Feb 2023), the Winston Churchill communication could be considered as one of the more amusing elements of The Scole Experiment; but some members of SEARA think it would certainly be interesting if a means could be found – such as Charles' Germanium Typewriter idea – by which there could be 'direct writing’ communicated from the Other Side, using technology rather than a human automatist.
Charles is still in the early stages of considering how to make a TDC that can connect to a keyboard. One option is to make an individual TDC for each of the 26 alphabet letters and 10 more for numbers 0-9. That, however, would cost a lot of money and time to make, so he is also working on simpler ways of doing it.
Meanwhile, if any readers of this page are interested in obtaining a specially constructed Germanium TDC Device similar to The Scole Experiment device, Charles is currently able to build such devices to order. His contact details can be found in the links below.
