Scope

​The Scole Archive Project encompasses the comprehensive preservation and digital curation of all primary and secondary records generated during the Scole experiments conducted at Street Farmhouse in Scole, Norfolk, and in five additional countries, between 1993 and 1998.

Following a transformative 2023-2025 release that increased available data by an estimated 90%, the archive has been retrieved from international source locations including Spain, Switzerland, Germany, the UK, and the USA. Previous perceptions of Scole have been largely based on only 37 sittings attended by members of the Society for Psychical Research (SPR) and their colleagues. This expanded archive aims to document all 464 unique sessions of physical mediumship, scientific investigation, and ‘contact’.

The thematic scope is centred on scientific evidence for survival after physical death and the viability of contact with deceased-human intelligences (DHI) and non-human intelligences (NHI). It specifically documents physical phenomena such as light anomalies, materialisations, and instrumental and non-instrumental extra-terrestrial and trans-dimensional communication. The material scope includes a diverse multi-media collection of thousands of images, video recordings, and audio tapes, alongside session transcripts, contemporary notes, and diary entries.

The archive is currently structured into 16 distinct series, ranging from 01-ADM-Administrative to 16-SUP-Support. Every item is catalogued using the Scole Archive Naming Standard (SANS), creating an expandable, cross-referenced, machine-readable digital resource, with finding aids. This Plaintext architecture is specifically designed to support both rigorous human scholarship and advanced AI interpretations, linking raw experimental data with automated data analysis, commentary, and witness testimony.

    With a monumental dataset spanning hundreds of recorded sessions to archive, curate, and share, our focus is entirely on evidence-based analysis. We do not engage with conclusions drawn from pre-existing prejudices, preconceptions, or belief systems prior to an impartial assessment of the actual records.
    We presume all can agree that there is always more to learn than we currently know. By all means, disagree with or challenge the data—but please do so only after you have reviewed it in detail. We look forward to engaging with you on that rigorous basis.
